We are looking for a highly qualified Part-Time Communications Coordinator to join our team!
Job Description The Communications Coordinator is a part time 20-25 hour a week position with Iredell Museums. Someone in this position would ideally have background in nonprofit marketing and communications as well as experience developing and teaching educational programs to elementary aged children. This position is multifaceted and contains elements of marketing, communications, donor relations, fundraising, member relations, and community outreach/education. Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in person, are absolutely essential to this position, as well as the ability to absorb and learn many different subjects. It is a fast-paced and engaging job. Iredell Museums is up and coming and poised to grow. Ideally we are looking for someone who is interested in being with the Museum long term.
List of Responsibilities: • Manage Social Media Accounts (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) • Keep track of social media data and write monthly updates for the board • Assist Operations Manager with drafting email Newsletters • Spearhead web-based fundraisers and membership drives • Write press releases for events and exhibits • Develop promotional materials including, brochures, calendars, flyers, and more • Create lesson plans for weekly Boys and Girls Club Programming • Assist the Operations Manager and Program Assistant with field trips and other special events • Attend outreach events and represent Iredell Museums’ brand • Assist with daily Museum Operation - interpret exhibit to visitors of all ages and abilities, run point-of-sale system for admission and gift shop, track visitation data, answer phone calls and take messages, answer visitor questions
Qualifications • Four year degree • 1+ year of nonprofit communications and marketing experience • 1+ year of teaching experience (preferably in an afterschool or out-of-school environment) • Prefered experience with graphic design and familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite • Preferred customer service experience • Preferred fundraising/nonprofit development experience
